So my super sweet husband finally made me crack a smile after pouting for most of the morning, there was alot of love and time put into that garden.

This pile of leaves was all over the yard now there is a huge pile at the end of the driveway after tons of work.

The kids even got in on the job. Of course they didn't last long but it was some nice time together.

We went for a bike ride to survey the damage around the neighborhood and there were many huge trees down along with fences and other destroyed garden to be seen.

We collected out tomatoes and apples off the ground in hopes of making some applesauce and packing up the tomatoes in newspaper so they will ripen. There are still some left on the plants I think I will leave there in hopes that the limbs are still intact enough to support them. Who knows, the hail came down so hard and was so big that the backside of our fence has dimples!

Mother Natures Wrath

Why did mother nature break her promise to me? She promised so much!

It was all so beautiful and now its all gone, I really don't think much can be salvaged!

Pretty sure my corn is a lost cause.

There was probably 4 inches of hail out there. That was what we discovered after we came poking our heads out of our holes or in our case our crawlspace! The kids and dogs were terrified and it was a super eventful evening.

Finally some color! Of course there are 2 less now, and they tasted awsome...

ok so my tomatoe plants are taller than my 6 foot fence! I had to do a bit of trimming so I could actually find the tomatoes in there.

I'm kinda happy in my garden....alright I am super duper happy in my garden I wish I could spend a lot more time in there, this is the first time I have been out there in a week and it really soothed my soul to work in the soil again .

So this was a little creepy but the kids thought it was cool enough to warrant a picture so here it is.

We had ice cream that was drippy sticky bliss.

And we let the sun warm our skin. What a face on that boy. I love the openess of my kids, they are happy to close their eyes and let the sun shine down on them like the sun was put there purely for them and them alone, for their pleasure only.

We stood on the top of the world today and looked at the amazing sights and smelled the fresh pine in the air. Truly peaceful.

We went to the Nature Conservation Center on Lookout Mountain today. The ladybugs were everywhere.

Just piles on flowers and the rocks too. It was weird.

This is why is I love the Colorado Moutains, I feel so peaceful when I am there.

Beautiful. Sigh...

They though it was beautiful and amazing too.

So I am beginning this blog with a collection of pictures of things that have come and gone all too quickly already this summer and with the hopes that I will be a little more organized from now on and will be able to accurately add in photos and updates as they actually happen!

The Victory Garden!

I have recently discovered that the kids and I have a greener thumb than we had all thought! This is a pumpkin blossom!

My corn is definatly "knee high by fourth of July" and then some... Everymorning we check our crops and Killian asks where the corn is and when can we eat it. I think I am just as excited as he is!

So I stuck Apollo in front of the tomato plants just to give a comparison! Holey smokes those are huge plants! There are tomatoes all over them too.

Korahs Lavender plant and Killians Cilantro plants are huge and we have already made tons of salsa this summer, gotta figure out how to can so I can keep some of the wonderful flavors of summer bottled up for a long winter.
